Where do I start?: SUP
So you want to try Standup Paddle Boarding (SUP) but don't know where to start? We can show you a few options that will hopefully make your experience super fun so you'll be out SUPing every day:
The easiest, most convenient and cost effective way to try SUP is to hire one on location. Most river reserves have vans and trailers setup for people to try SUPing for a small fee of between $20-$30 an hour. You'll get shown the basics about the board and paddle and sent on your way to have fun.
For a little bit more money you'll be able join 1 on 1 or group classes to get tips and trick to take your paddling experience to the next level. Most classes will be 2hrs and run by certified instructors who will go into depth about water safety, board design and paddle technique. You'll usually also go on an adventure through their area. Our SUP MATES even let your 4 legged mate join in too!
Brands and shops also run demo days (mainly during the warmer months) so you'll be able to try a heap of boards in the 1 location and its FREE! Check back regularly or keep an eye out on our FACEBOOK page for the Next Level Demo days or our SUP MATES demo days.
